Take a read through an article I wrote about foods for hypertension, which is featured on the Juniper Family Health blog.
Hypertension, otherwise known as high blood pressure, is an important risk factor for cardiovascular and kidney disease. It is a modifiable risk factor, meaning it is something we have the ability to alter based on our behaviors (unlike our age, ethnicity, and family history, which are examples of nonmodifiable risk factors). There are a number of foods that have shown benefit in treating hypertension and I’m going to highlight 3 of them here.
- Green leafy vegetables and beetroot
- Garlic
- Dark Chocolate
In the article, I outline the benefits and important safety considerations for all 3. Read the full article on the Juniper Family Health blog.
